I've run across a couple of maps of late that basically show North Dakota as a punch line to a joke!

I've never been one of those people who gets my feathers in a ruffle over nothing.  I can take a joke, and I like to give it back too.

I do get a little defensive however when people take potshots at our state of North Dakota.

You have to admit though, the map above is pretty funny.  This first map talks about how we have nothing to see in North Dakota.  I've heard plenty of people say, "We have nothing to do in North Dakota."

How about Medora, the Badlands, Turtle Mountains, the Missouri River, Lake Sakakawea, The Valley City Highline Bridge, The World's Largest Buffalo in Jamestown, The Enchanted Highway, and not to mention Salem Sue just down the road in New Salem?

We've got dozens of other worthy attractions in North Dakota right?

I think we do anyway.  Another map from Matt Surelee talks about vacationing in the United States, and once again North Dakota is a punchline to a joke.  Basically, we are one of three states in the entire country that you NEVER go to visit.

Again, I can think of dozens of reasons why people come to visit North Dakota every year.  Obviously, none of Matt Surelee's readers are outdoorsmen.  North Dakota is one of the best states in the country for hunting and fishing.

Not to mention, the amount of visitors Medora receives during the vacation season is pretty impressive.

On second thought, North Dakota sucks.  We don't like people finding out about all we have to offer and we don't want to share it with you.  Stay home and keep away.  Lifelong residents like myself prefer it that way.
