Ya know, sometimes you just need a beer, which was the case Wednesday in St. Paul where a man wanted to end his life by jumping off the bridge over Interstate 94 in St. Paul, Minn.

On this day, Jason Gaebel and Kwame Anderson don't normally take this route on their daily beer delivery, but possibly faith intervene and it became a situation that was anything but normal for the Breakthrough Beverage drivers.

While going to their next beer drop off, Jason noticed a guy on the edge of the bridge. He yelled to come off the edge and the desperate man responded with words no one wants to hear, "I'm going to take my life".

At that point, the men called 911 and waited for the police to arrive.

While waiting for authorities to arrive,  Anderson decided to talk to the guy, keep him distracted until police could take over the rescue mission. Anderson tried to entertain the man for close to an hour. Asking him his name, and getting as much information from the jumper. Anderson just wanted to keep the guy from jumping off the bridge until police arrived.

According to Inforum, St. Paul police officers and other authorities arrived and closed the eastbound lane of the bridge.

Anderson kept asking the jumper questions about his family and so on. At one point Anderson asked if he was hungry. The jumper replied "no".

Then came the magical question from Anderson, "Do you want to have a drink with me?" After a short pause, the man replied "maybe."

The police continued to distract the man as the beer man ran to his beer truck and grabbed a 12-pack of Coors Light. Anderson brought the case of beer near the edge of the bridge, he opened a can and told the man if he climbed down, the beer was his.

It was the beer and the offer from Anderson that made the jumper crawl to safety to get the brewsky where police were able to approach the man and take him to the hospital.

Breakthru Beverage, the employer of the two workers posted on Facebook praising the work of Anderson and Gaebel.

Sometimes when life gets tough, you just need a beer! (but a Coors Light...ICK) In a weird way, this is a funny story. Man prevents a man from jumping off a bridge with the offer of a beer.  One a serious note, we're glad the jumper is off the bridge and gets the help he deserves.

Congratulations to the beer delivery men for saving a desperate mans life with beer. BRAVO!
