I just returned from a vacation and a 1400 mile round trip on my Yamaha R1, sport bike or rocket. Sure, such a long trip on a rocket is not for everyone, but I have always owned a crotch rocket and have taken several motorcycle vacations on the R1 each year. I'm used to it. I have to stop every 130-170 miles for gas and it's at that time I stretch and check my e mails and return text messages. Each stop is about 20-40 minutes longer than a normal fuel up in a car. While driving in a car, you can take and make calls while driving, none of that can be done while riding. Yes, there are new advancements in helmets that make that possible. Personally, it's the phone and e mails that I want to get away from.

Wednesday kicks off this years season of Bike Night at Hooters in Bismarck. This is the inaugural season of Bike Night. This was an idea that I started over five years ago in Mankato, MN and the strange thing was to be in Mankato at Busters Bar and Grill this past Friday night ,at the event that I started. It was a freaky feeling to be at the event but only as a participant.

1033 US Country kicks off Bike Night at Hooter's Wednesday night from 6-8. The easiest way to explain Bike Night for those that need help to vision what the event is,  imagine a classic car night. You're familiar with what those events are like. People with classic cars, get together, share idea's, stories and show off their cars. Bike Night is the same, riders that have a passion show up each week, show off their bikes, meet other riders, share stories and idea's. Have a burger and win prizes each week.

Bike Night is a weekly event, every Wednesday night through out the summer, riders of all kind show up and enjoy nightly specials from Hooter's, local venders will have booths to display their products and services. On top of all that, the sponsors also donate prizes that we'll be giving away at least every hour through out the night at each Bike Night!
