The Bismarck Blizzard girls hockey team has a third consecutive state championship after beating the Grand Forks Knight Riders, 3-0, while the Bismarck Demons boys team fell in their title game to Grand Forks Central, 7-2.

Kenley Anderson scored twice and Skylar Ackerman made 17 saves for the Blizzard. Britta Curl added a third period goal to complete the scoring. This is the sixth state championship for the Bismarck Blizzard, and fourth in the last five seasons.

The Mandan Braves girls hockey team won the third place. Maiah McCowan had four points and Lucy Morgan had 34 saves in the win.

The busy day at Scheels Arena continued on into the finale of Saturday night with the Bismarck Demons facing off against the Grand Forks Central Knights.

Central struck early and often as they jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one period. The Demons answered with two goals in the second period, coming from Jakob Parisien and Eric Pladsen to make it a 3-2 game, but Bismarck would not get any closer. Central made it 4-2 before the end of the second period, and added three goals in the third period to complete the scoring as they rolled to a 7-2 victory.

Grand Forks Central finished off their championship season with a perfect record, 27-0, for a second consecutive season. The Bismarck Demons finished their season with a record of 21-5.
