May people look forward to this annual event, it's time to clean out from the summer months and bring all of that to the curb for pick-up.

According to the City of Bismarck webpage, the fall clean up week is scheduled for September 24-27.

Here are the guidelines. If you live in an apartment building, place items for special pick-up on the boulevard by 6:00 a.m. on your regular scheduled garbage day.

For residential areas, place items for special pick-up in the alley at your regular point of collection or on the boulevard by 6:00 a.m. on your regular scheduled garbage day.

For residential neighborhoods, this is a list of items that are allowed for pick-up:

Appliances

  • Box Springs and Mattresses
  • Carpet
  • Electronics
  • Furniture Items
  • Propane Tanks
  • Tires (will not pick up semi truck and tractor tires)
  • Tree branches and wood material must be cut in 4-foot lengths
  • Tree branches must be tied in bundles

City workers will NOT pick-up the follow:

Construction and Remodeling Debris

  • Decks
  • Fences
  • Sod
  • Dirt
  • Rocks
  • Semi-truck and Tractor Tires

 

 

By the way, it is illegal for you to go through the items placed at the road for pick-up that do not belong to you. You can't scavenger through items or trash placed at the road for pickup.
