This comes on the heels of his release from the San Francisco 49ers. Prior to his time there, Smith made a name for himself in his first four seasons as a solid deep threat turned into an all-around go-to wide receiver for the Baltimore Ravens. There, he had two seasons of over 800 yards receiving and one season over 1,000 yards, including 11 receiving touchdowns in 2014. Smith also acquired a Super Bowl ring in 2012 with the Ravens.

The Eagles have also been rumored to be in talks with several other free agent marquee receivers, including Kenny Britt, Alshon Jeffrey, Terrelle Pryor, while another rumor is a potential trade for Kenny Stills.

Time will tell what other moves the Eagles will make to help Wentz on offense. The NFL free agency season has just begun.
