The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have the Philadelphia Eagles all that they could handle and then some with a 27-21 win over the defending champs.

Tampa Bay quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for 402 yards on 27 of 33 passing with 4 TDS and former Eagle DeSean Jackson had 129 yards receiving on 4 catches and a touchdown.

Nick Foles started once again for the Eagles while Carson Wentz sat out while recovering from injury, although he may be ready for next week.

The Eagles played from behind from the start. The Bucs scored on the first play of the game on a 75-yard touchdown pass to Jackson from Fitzpatrick which set the tone for the game.

Philadelphia would tie the score at 7-7 with their only points of the first half on a 15-yard run by Corey Clement. However, the Bucs would pull ahead for good.

On Tampa Bay’s ensuing possession, O.J. Howard took Fitzpatrick’s short pass and went 75 yards to make it 14-7. Another TD from Chris Godwin on an 8-yard pass made it 20-7 before the half.

It was 27-7 before the Eagles could begin to make any sort of comeback. A rushing score from Jay Ajayi and and a receiving score by Nelson Agholor made it a 27-21 game with under three minutes to go, but the Eagles wouldn’t get the ball back until there was under 30 seconds left, with too much field to go.

Foles finished with 334 yards passing on 35 of 48.

Carson Wentz is expected to return as starting quarterback next week.
