Earthquake Reported in Idaho Saturday
No injuries were reported in rural Idaho Saturday when an earthquake shook the area.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported a 4.9 magnitude earthquake that shook about 4 miles east of Challis, 5 miles in rural central Idaho at 10:44 MST Saturday.
Idahoans reported shaking and rattling in Boise's North End, including Eagle, Garden City and Mountain Home.
Challis, the small town of about 1,000, reported rock slides on several roads, according to the local sheriff's office. The transportation department began cleanup as traffic was diverted. No injuries were reported.
