The heat and humidity has forced the National Weather Service in Bismarck to issue an EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING.

The following counties are under the influence of an EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING. Mercer, Oliver, Mclean, Sheridan, Morton, Burleigh, Sioux, Emmons and Kidder.

This warning is in effect until 9 p.m. CST.  (July 20) The warning means conditions are dangerously hot. Temperatures across the region will range between 95 and 100 and combined with the humidity, heat indices will range between 105 to 110 degrees.

Extra precautions should be exercised for those working outside, and for livestock and pets.

Drink plenty of fluids and find air condition and avoid exercising in the direct heat. Take plenty of breaks in shade or air condition if possible.
