The National Restaurant Association just released some statistics about the restaurant business in each state.

Everyone loves to eat so let's learn a little more about the restaurant industry in North Dakota.

According to the National Restaurant Association, North Dakota had 1,670 total eating establishments in 2014. In 2015, the state as a whole added just 5 restaurants and there were just 1,675 restaurants last year.

In those 1,675 eating and drinking establishments, there are 28,400 employees. However between restaurants and non-restaurant foodservice jobs (such as catering for example), there are 41,300 employees. That means 10% of residents in the state of North Dakota work in the foodservice industry.

North Dakota restaurants as a whole are projected to earn $1.3 billion in 2016.

Between 2014 and 2015, California added the most restaurants with the addition of 2,025 new restaurants. Meanwhile our neighbors in Minnesota had 229 less restaurants in 2015 than they did in 2014.
