North Dakota State showed their dominance early and often as they trounced the Toreros from San Diego, 45-7.

The Bison (11-1) will advance to the quarterfinal round of the FCS Playoffs and have taken the first step towards winning a sixth straight national championship. They will meet South Dakota State (9-3), as they edged out Villinova to advance. It will be a chance at revenge for NDSU, as South Dakota State handed them their only loss earlier in the season.

NDSU wasted now time getting the scoring started against San Diego, as they're defense made an early statement. Less than five minutes into the game, MJ Stumpf returned an interception 35 yards for a touchdown and that quick, NDSU had a 7-0 lead.

In the second quarter, Easton Stick threw two of his three touchdown passes in the game. One to Chase Morlock for 16 yards and the other, an 11-yard pass to RJ Urzendowski. NDSU was in control, up 21-0 at the half.

The third quarter saw San Diego get an early score to make it a 21-7 game, but once again, it would be all NDSU from there on out. The Bison would respond on the ensuing drive. Easton Stick hit Chase Morlock once again, this time for a 49-yard touchdown to make it 28-7.

The fourth quarter would be all Bison. After a 31-yard field goal made it 31-7, NDSU would add two long touchdown runs, a 56-yard run from Lance Dunn, and a 61-yard run from Bruce Anderson to finish out the scoring.

Easton Stick finished completing 12 of 20 passes for 208 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also added 4 runs for 99 yards to lead the Bison in rushing. Lance Dunn had 9 carries for 99 yards. Chase Morlock had 3 catches total for 83 yards.
