WASHBURN, N.D. (AP) — A weekend fire destroyed the home of the manager at Cross Ranch State Park.

Washburn Fire Chief Clayton Verke tells KXMB-TV the blaze was reported about 5 a.m. Sunday. No people were hurt, but one of the family's dogs died in the fire. The house could not be saved.

A heat lamp used to keep dogs warm is suspected as the cause of the fire.
