The first day of school Thursday, (Aug 25th) in Bismarck started off with a car hitting a child on a bicycle using a crosswalk.

This is a parents worst nightmare. According to reports,12-year old Bailey Hager was riding her bike with a friend walking through the crosswalk on South Washington Street near Billings drive. This crosswalk has working flashing yellow cautions lights to alert drivers of pedestrians using the cross the walk.

The girls did everything correct, but the driver of the car said he did not see the flashing yellow lights or the girls using the crosswalk.
