This is going to be a holiday for the books. Everything you want in terms of weather. Cold, wet, rain, freezing rain and snow. Take a pick, you'll get it all.

The National Weather Service has issued a Freezing Rain Advisory for area counties including Morton but at this hour, does not include Burleigh. The cities in the advisory area are Mandan, Fort Yates, Medora, Watford City. Beulah, Beach, Hazen, Elgin and Killdeer. The advisory is from 12 PM Thursday until 12 AM Friday.

Travel is going to be hazardous through the entire state. Snow is expected, very cold temperatures, between 2-4 inches of snow and ice covered roads.

If you have travel plans during Thanksgiving, you are advised to check and double check road conditions, keep up to date on the latest advisories and watches. Make sure you have a winter survival kit in your automobile.

Timing of this event is Thursday afternoon into the evening. Ice accumulation could be up to a tenth of an inch along with snow and sleet with a mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow will make traveling on Thanksgiving very dangerous.
