Gretchen Wilson has released her newest single, "Rowdy;" it's her first new song in over three years.

Known for songs that bring a little bit of rock and a whole lot of sass to country music, Wilson broke onto the scene in 2004 with her debut single "Redneck Woman." "Rowdy," her latest track, is full of that same rock 'n' roll sound mixed with country twang; it even gives a shoutout to all of Wilson's redneck women pals, and nods to another one of her well-known tunes, "Here for the Party."

"I'm a whole lotta crazy, a little bit naughty / This redneck woman's always here for the party," sings Wilson, leading up to the chorus: "I'm ready / To get rowdy / It finally found me / It's been a long time comin' / Pour 'em steady / Strong and heavy / Yeah, resurrect me / We'll get the rockin' up and runnin' / Let me say it proud and loudly / I'm ready to get rowdy."

"Rowdy" marks Wilson's return to performing after a prolonged hiatus to devote her time and attention to her daughter, Grace.

"As a single mom, I knew I could never get the time back with my daughter if I continued the pace I was on," says Wilson in a press release. "Grace is really talented and very involved in school, and I didn't want to miss anything, so I just put everything on hold."

During that time, however, Wilson never stopped writing; rather, she created a whole bunch of tracks for her newest project, which was recorded with award-winning producer Blake Chancey. "Rowdy" is the first single from the album, set to be released in early 2017.

And, more good news for those missing Wilson's presence in country music: The singer also says that she's ready to get rowdy on the road!

"I'm as excited about the music we've cut as I am about my first album," Wilson admits. "I can't wait to get back on the road to share it with everyone!"
