How Much Will You Spend On Christmas This Year?

New figures are out on the economic side of Christmas.

Black Friday is less than 72 hours away and here in Bismarck, people will be hitting the streets, malls and lining up to grab that special bargain. Merchants have already started Black Friday deals for weeks now.

How much money do you plan to spend on the holiday? According to the American Research Group, it seems as though this will be a year that Santa's will be dropping more green backs than in previous years.

According to the ARG, most people will increase their holiday spending from last years figure of $801 to $861 in 2014, an increase of 8%.

The research also shows an increase from on line shopping. In 2013, the figure was 43% this year the number increases to 54%.

The methodology of ARG was that they conducted 1,100 completed telephone interviews among a random sample of all adults age 18 and older living in telephone households in the continental United States- sample dates: November 17-20, 2014.
