Jocelyne Lamoureux and her sister Monique are well known names around Grand Forks.

Former standouts at the University of North Dakota and Olympic athletes for USA hockey, the Lamoureux sisters were influential voices for equality for men's and women's hockey.

They were also not shy about their feelings with regards to UND shutting down its women's hockey program.

But the Lamoureux sisters are gearing up to play in PyeongChang, South Korea next month in what will be their third Olympic appearances. In Vancouver in 2010, and in Sochi in 2014, Team USA's women's hockey team walked away with silver medals.

We had the opportunity to speak with Jocelyne about UND hockey, her contributions to girls youth hockey, as well as the Olympic games which will start up in just a few weeks.

Monique and Jocelyne are the only two players on the roster who are from North Dakota.

Team USA's first game will be in a preliminary round on Sunday, Feb. 11 against Finland. The game will be played at 4:40 p.m. PyeongChang time and will air live on NBCSN at 1:40 a.m. central time. (PyeongChang is 15 hours ahead of the United States' central time zone.)
