Jake Owen Talks About His Surprise Trip to Bismarck

By now you've probably heard that Jake Owen and gang made a surprise pit stop in Bismarck on Sunday (July 27), but many of us are asking the same question - why? 1033 US Country was able to chat exclusively with Jake to answer the question on everybody's mind.

We found out the crew was in between shows in Minnesota and Montana. Because the band has friends who are local firefighters here in town, Bismarck seemed like a logical place to stop to take a break.

Jake also spoke briefly about his epic Bismarck concert back in April and seemed a bit surprised and humbled when told how big of an impression he made on the town and that the majority of fans voted his show better than Luke Bryan's. He spoke of the passion he has for his job and how he wants to give people a night they won't forget. "When I came [to Bismarck] for that show, unless I stopped here again - which I did - really I was going to be in Bismarck one time this year. If I'm gonna spend an hour-and-a-half with people like y'all for the show, I'm not gonna just dial it in. People notice that."

Jake said after the pit stop here, he was looking forward to a few days off to go fly fishing in Montana. Just like his April stop in Bismarck, he also took some time out of his day to visit Gold's Gym to get a quick workout in. Jake and company hit up the Blarney Stone to grab a few drinks and meet with fans Sunday night.

Once again, Jake Owen is proving he truly is a man of the people. Safe to say he has gained fans for life in Bismarck.
