Jason Aldean and Miranda Lambert took over an empty bar for their new "Drowns the Whiskey" music video. Readers can press play above to watch the clip.

In a press release, Aldean explains that he "wanted keep the ["Drowns the Whiskey"] video simple and really let the heartbreak and loneliness come through." The clip itself features Aldean and Lambert alone in a bar, sipping whiskey, playing bar games and harmonizing on the song itself.

"Drowns the Whiskey" appears on Aldean's newest studio album, Rearview TownIt's their second collaboration -- the first, "Grown Woman," appears on Aldean's 2007 album Relentless -- but it almost didn't happen.

"I had a [different] song in mind, and I sent it to her, and she was kind of iffy on it," Aldean says. "I was like, 'Hey, listen, if you don't like it, it's cool. I want you to love whatever we wind up doing. We'll find something else.'" Then, he thought of "Drowns the Whiskey," and sent Lambert the track. "She loved it," he adds.

When Lambert came into the studio to record her portion of the song, Aldean actually wasn't there (he had a show to play); however, he did chime in via FaceTime to offer his thoughts.

"It turned out great, just like I thought it would," he says of the recording. "It became one of the highlights of this record."

Aldean is not only a friend of Lambert's -- he's a fan, too: "She's such a great singer -- such a great harmony singer, too," he gushes. "I've always been a big fan of her voice, and her style."
