The man behind 'Freedom Cards' is visiting Bismarck on July 15.

A man by the name of Alex Robson started the project about a decade ago and the object is simple. You answer the question, "what does freedom mean to you" on a 3x5 index card. Robson has been gathering answers from people all over the nation and the world for years and posting pictures to their website.

Among those who have filled out cards are many celebrities. These include sports figures like Lou Holtz (who was in Bismarck in the summer of 2016), musicians such as Cyndi Lauper, and big name politicians like former President Jimmy Carter.

Now, Robson is going on a visit to the 48 continental states, making stops in each one to get as many people as he can to fill out freedom cards.

Robson will be on the steps of the capitol on July 15 from 9am to 10am where you can fill out a card and have your picture taken. Both the card and the picture will forever live in the 'Freedom Card archives' and at the end of the tour it will be put on a special display.

The card at the top of this post was filled out by Julie Nixon Eisenhower, the daughter of President Richard Nixon. It reads: "Freedom - The stirring words of the Declaration of Independence are to me the best expression of freedom: 'We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal.'"

Musician Phil Collins filled out a Freedom Card that reads, "Freedom is to be able to have a choice!"

Even Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek has filled out a Freedom Card: "Freedom means a better world for my children."

Robson talked with Wish on Cool 98.7 to discuss more about what the project is all about. Listen to the interview below.

More information and examples of Freedom Cards are available on their website.
