Singer and songwriter Kris Kristofferson reveals he struggles with severe memory loss. He's still performing and acting -- his new movie 'The Motel Life' is in select theaters this month -- but the day-to-day details of life are slipping past him.

"They tell me its from all the football and boxing and the concussions that I got," Kristofferson told Fox411 earlier this month. "A couple of years ago, my memory just started going. But I can remember my songs, so I can perform, but other than that..."

Kristofferson played rugby and boxed while attending Oxford University on a Rhodes Scholarship. After that, he joined the Army, making it to Captain before leaving the military to write music. 'Me and Bobby McGee' by Janis Joplin and 'Sunday Mornin' Coming Down' by Johnny Cash are two songs he's famous for writing. He also penned hits for Ray Price, Waylon Jennings, Sammi Smith and Bobby Bare and was part of the Highwaymen with Cash, Willie Nelson and Jennings.

The 77-year-old is still acting, and despite memory lapses, he calls his life "blessed."

"I can't think of anything that I could do that I haven't done," the Country Music Hall of Famer says. Kristofferson's acting credits include 'Flashpoint,' 'First Blood' and 'A Star Is Born' with Barbara Streisand.
