Lar Dawg’s Early Memories of Hunter Hayes from South Louisiana [VIDEO]

I've been meaning to do this for a while and this morning on the show I mentioned how Hunter Hayes was from Breaux Bridge, LA ( pronounced "bro" and "Bridge" is pronounced 'bridge'- "Bro Bridge"). I had a listener email me and mention that I always say that I'm suppose to share some "back in the day" pictures of a younger Hunter. So, I made the time to get some pictures of young Hunter playing the fairs and festivals in South Louisiana.

In Cajun Country, there is a festival for just about anything you can imagine, eat or ride. Where Hunter is from, Breaux Bridge, is known as the Crawfish Capital of the World and the entire town has an annual festival to worship and eat the Crawfish. (pronounced CRAW- not CRAY) It is one of the largest festivals in South Louisiana.

A younger Hunter Hayes would perform at all of the festivals in the area, he'd get on stage and perform songs mostly in french. I would remember the little boy with the BIG accordion on stage and even at the age of 4, Hunter was a performer! Here he is with Hank Williams Jr. singing 'Jambalaya' in 1997.

So here you go, take a look at a younger Hunter Hayes at various fairs and festivals from South Louisiana.

Even at this early age, it was obvious to everyone in South Louisiana that Hunter was set to be a star. He had the swagger, drew many fans at fairs and festivals. Not only was the little kid cute as a bug on stage with this huge accordion, he also sang songs in french and was a hit on stage.

It's no surprise that Hunter Hayes is having the success that he's enjoying, many of us from South Louisiana knew the kid was destine to be something big in the country music world!
