It isn't often that a country music star can get a hit song that is synonymous with them, but this is the case with Lee Greenwood and his hit song "God Bless the USA". It is a song that is engraved in everyone memory.

Born in 1942 in California, Lee Greenwood came to the forefront of the country music scene in 1979. The first single, "It Turns Me Inside Out", made it to a spot in the top 20 of the country charts.  "Ring On Her Finger, Time on Her Hands" landed him in the country top 10. His signature patriotic song " God Bless the USA" hit big in the early 1980s.  The song regained more popularity after the 9-11 attacks on the U.S. Greenwood has more than 30 top charting hits on the Billboard Charts and iss a Grammy Award recipient.

Lee is married to former Miss Tennessee Kimberly Payne.
