Local Farmer Killed In Farming Accident East of Washburn

According to the Bismarck Tribune, a Washburn farmer was killed in a farming accident Thursday (Sept. 28) morning.

The farmer, John Holznagel, 33, was injured while working on a fencing project about 9 miles west of Washburn in McLean County.

Holznagel was working on a mechanical issue on a front-load tractor, and got pinned by the tractor.

His family members delivered first aid on Holznagel until first responders arrived. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Agencies responding to the rural farm accident were the McLean Sheriff's Department, Washburn Fire Department and Washburn Ambulance Service.

The accident happened on the Holznagel farm.
