Matt Greene Brings NHL's Stanley Cup to UND [VIDEO]

When a team wins the NHL's coveted Stanley Cup, each member gets 24 hours to do whatever they want with the trophy. Los Angeles Kings defenseman Matt Greene decided to take the cup back to his alma mater.

Last Tuesday, August 12th, Greene arrived on the campus of the University of North Dakota, where he was a star player for the Sioux. Lord Stanley's Cup was along for the ride.

The Stanley Cup was on display at Ralph Engelstad arena for three hours, with fans having the opportunity to take their picture with the beloved trophy. More than 4,000 fans, some of which drove over three hours, lined up for their chance to get a glimpse of the NHL's top prize, according to NHL.com.

Greene actually made a pitstop in the small North Dakota town of Manvel, before taking the Stanley Cup to Grand Forks. While attending UND, Greene spent quite a bit of time at Manvel's American Legion, so he took the Cup there for an unannounced visit.
