Instead of returning to the Minnesota Vikings roster this coming Monday (Sept. 22nd), wide receiver Jerome Simpson is looking for work.

The Vikings released Simpson earlier today after they learned of the receiver's July run-in with authorities.

According to ESPN.com, Simpson is facing three misdemeanor charges: driving on a limited driver's license, possession of marijuana, and having an open bottle in a motor vehicle.

Simpsons was cited, but not arrested, less than a mile from the team's headquarters in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

With the recent plethora of criminal charges being filed against NFL players, it was more than likely a no-brainer for the Vikings to cut ties with Simpson.

Earlier this week, the Vikings placed running back Adrian Peterson on the Exemption List, which bars him from all team activities until his legal problems have been taken care of.
