MINOT, N.D. (AP) — Military officials say Minot Air Force Base had a record impact of nearly $584 million on the area economy in fiscal 2013, an increase of more than $61 million over the previous year.

The annual report uses Pentagon formulas and takes into account base payroll, purchases and indirect jobs created.

The base in northern North Dakota has nearly 13,000 personnel. It oversees B-52 bombers and Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missiles.
