Minot Man Arrested on Internet Sex Charges

MINOT, N.D. (AP) — Authorities say a 19-year-old Minot man is accused of making illegal Internet-related contacts with children.

KXMC-TV reports 19-year-old Nicholas Thiel was charged Wednesday with numerous felony counts, including promoting obscenity to minors, luring and terrorizing.

Police say Thiel made a majority of contacts on Facebook using an alias, and provided sexually provocative pictures of himself to several underage girls.

Police say he also tried to get underage girls to send him sexually provocative pictures.

Police say Thiel also made threats to an underage child.

Thiel is being held at Ward County Jail.
