MINOT, N.D. (AP) — A 45-year-old Minot woman suspected of killing her 3-month-old daughter is receiving unspecified treatment at a hospital while authorities prepare murder charges against her.

Authorities say the woman was arrested after a traffic stop in McLean County on Tuesday during which questions arose about the welfare of her baby. Police went to the apartment where she lived with her husband and found the girl's body.

The woman is in police custody while receiving treatment. Once she is discharged she will make her initial court appearance and be formally charged.

Police say an autopsy was conducted on the baby Wednesday and they are awaiting results.
