A woman in Minot had to be rescued from a river Sunday after her car became submerged.

UPDATE 1:11pm: The Minot Air Force Base confirms that the woman involved in the crash was a Base Captain and she has died. The woman's name is being withheld pending the notification of family.

ORIGINAL STORY:

KFYR TV reports that the woman, who was the only occupant in the car, missed a bridge and drove into the Souris River.

A dive team was able to pull the woman from the car and rush her to the hospital. They later towed the car out of the river.

Minot police, Minot fire, and paramedics responded to the scene. The woman's condition is unknown at this time.
