State Highway 1806 was opened about 1:30 Saturday afternoon (October 22) after North Dakota Access Pipeline protesters started a march before sunrise. The highway was closed both north and sound bound.

The highway was closed for about 4 hours as protesters flattened tires and locked themselves in their own cars. Various law enforcement agencies responded to the scene. Officials estimated about 300 protesters were on the scene and law enforcement officials made a line to separate the marchers and the construction equipment. Officials arrested more than 80 protesters.
