According to US News and World Report, a couple of universities in the state made it into the top 200 colleges in the country. This is US News 30th Annual Edition of the Top Colleges in the country.

The two colleges in North Dakota are - Tied at #168 with University of Hawaii/ Monoa is University of North Dakota,

 "located on the eastern edge of the state in the city of Grand Forks, the University of North Dakota offers nearly 300 academic fields, including a highly ranked rural medicine program. Notable UND alumni include Sally Smith, CEO of the Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant franchise.

The other college in North Dakota, tied at 181 with Immaculata University is North Dakota State University, according to the report-

"Located in the city of Fargo, North Dakota State University offers more than 100 academic majors and Division I sports. Notable NDSU alumni include Alf Clausen, Emmy Award-winning music director for "The Simpsons" television show.
