The North Dakota Department of Health has announced that there will be eight regions where marijuana dispensaries for medical purposes can be set up.

The Department of Health says that the application process for setting up a dispensary is months away but they wanted to give potential applicants time to decide on locations where they can set up a dispensary.

Within the eight regions, a dispensary can be set up anywhere. The regions are within a 50 mile radius in any direction of eight of North Dakota's largest cities and metro areas.

They regions are Fargo, Bismarck/Mandan, Grand Forks, Minot, Williston, Dickinson, Jamestown and Devils Lake.

Qualifying patients will be able to obtain medical marijuana at any of the dispensaries across the state.

The Department of Health also says that they, "will be tracking purchased amounts and qualifying patients will not be able to purchase more than 2.5 ounces of dried leaves and flowers and 2,000 mg of THC total from all other products every 30 days."

Under proposed rules, dispensaries will also be able to deliver products to qualifying patients located anywhere in the state.
