It doesn't matter how much pizza cost in North Dakota, we're still buying it and we're still eating it.

We can pretty much all agree that pizza's amazing. Unfortunately, in North Dakota, on average, we're paying more for pizza than any other state in the U.S. A new report from Datafinity says a large plain pizza in our state cost more than anywhere else in the country with a median price of $14.00.

Wyoming finished in second at $13.00 per large plain pizza. The study suggests that due to the low number of overall pizzerias in the top two states (both ranging between 2.0 and 3.9 pizzerias per 100,000 state residents), there tend to be more "upscale, artisanal sit-down restaurants." Basically, if you can find pizza, you're willing to pay more for it.

Alaska has the cheapest pizza at $7.25 and Maine has the second-cheapest at $7.50 for a large plain pizza. I can't say I've ever been to either state, but I bet the pizza is absolutely atrocious in both Alaska and Maine.

That's how we'll look at it in North Dakota. We have the most expensive pizza, so we must have the best pizza, right?
