Two North Dakota cities showed up on the list of the safest cities in the country.

More than 180 U.S. cities were compared in a recent study done by WalletHub that determined just how safe those cities are from life's hazards. 35 key metrics were used to determine the results, which included home & community safety, financial safety, natural disaster risk, hate-crime incidents, thefts, unemployment rate, and the number of law-enforcement employees in the state, among others.

On that list of 180 U.S. cities, Fargo showed up as the 6th safest city in the U.S. while Bismarck came in as the 21st safest city in the country.

Fargo and Bismarck finished one and two in the country respectively in the category of financial safety. Fargo also has the highest percentage of households with emergency savings in the country. Bismarck came in tied for the lowest unemployment rate of any city. You can view a map of where other locations around the country figured in the study below.
