North Dakota State Patrol is Changing Vehicle Colors

If you're driving on any highway throughout North Dakota, you'll notice something different about the State Patrol vehicles.

The North Dakota State Patrol is switching their vehicle colors from white to black. A key reason is since there are large amounts of snow that fall for a good portion of the year, the black vehicles will be much more visible on the roads and will help to increase trooper-safety.

Currently, the process has started in Jamestown, where you can find the new black vehicles. The overall process of switching from the white vehicles to black vehicles throughout the state will take about four years. The black patrol vehicles include both cars and SUVs.

The side doors will keep the tomahawk logo. The tomahawk logo references the Bureau of Indian Affairs Police Officer Red Tomahawk.
