BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The North Dakota Tax Department is extending its hours on Monday and Tuesday to help state residents who are filing their state returns at the last minute.

Tax Commissioner Ryan Rauschenberger says his department will be open until 7.p.m. on Monday and 9 p.m. on the deadline Tuesday to accommodate taxpayers who have last-minute questions or want to drop off their return in person.

Rauschenberger says anyone unable to file their return by the April 15 deadline should file an application for an extension.
