North Dakota Tribes Get $1.4 Million in Jobs Training Grants

BISMARK, N.D. (AP) — Two American Indian tribes in North Dakota are getting a total of more than $1.4 million in federal money to help disabled tribal members find jobs.

U.S. Sen. John Hoeven announced Monday that the Spirit Lake Sioux tribe is getting about $506,000 and the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa is getting about $900,000. He says the grants will help people with disabilities reintegrate into the workforce.

The money is from a U.S. Education Department program that supports vocational rehabilitation programs for people with disabilities living on or near reservations.
