BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota's Game and Fish Department is reminding winter anglers that when they're done fishing they need to clean up — and not just trash.

It's common practice for some anglers to fillet fish on the ice. Fisheries Chief Greg Power says when fish parts are left behind, it's "an absolute eyesore."

It's also illegal to leave fish behind on the ice.

Power says anglers also should take with them anything they brought with them — including aluminum cans and Styrofoam containers. He says that when the snow melts in the spring, discarded trash becomes highly visible.
