According to The Daily Meal, the best fried chicken in North Dakota doesn't even reside in the Peace Garden State, which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

As they typically do, The Daily Meal went to seek out another food and where you can find the best of it in each state. Apparently, when it comes to fried chicken, you have to go across the state border to get that or else you're doing it wrong. Based on their research, North Dakota's best fried chicken is in Moorhead, MN.

Granted, Moorhead is just across the Veterans Memorial Bridge from Fargo, ND, but is North Dakota's fried chicken game so bad that we have to cross state lines to get the good stuff?

The restaurant in Moorhead that has, what is said to be, North Dakota's best fried chicken is the Rustica Eatery and Tavern. Here's what The Daily Meal had to say about the establishment:

This rustic and cozy neighborhood restaurant serves a menu of seasonal fare from chef Eric Watson, and there’s always something exciting coming from the wood-burning pizza open. House-made pastas, duck breast pastrami, and other upscale specialties keep the place busy, but those in-the-know order the buttermilk fried chicken, served with green chile ranch and tomato preserves. Golden brown and shatteringly crisp, this chicken is for some reason on the appetizer menu, which obviously gives you permission to gobble it down as a first course before exploring the rest of the exciting menu.

I've never been there, but that does sound amazing, and I'm sure it might be, but does this mean there is no place in North Dakota with quality fried chicken? Do we really need to drive three hours east on I-94 across the state line to get some good chicken? What do you think, North Dakota?
