US World and News recently released the top schools in the nation and for each state, and the top school in North Dakota is located here in Bismarck.

The publication included information on over 22,000 public schools across the nation and the District of Columbia. They also looked at private and magnet school to compile their annual list. Each school was awards a medal, gold, silver and bronze. These awards were based on how well the students were college ready and on state assessment tests.

The even better news is that the graduation rate for high school students in North Dakota is higher than the national average.

According to US World and News, the top 5 schools in North Dakota are

  1. Century High School, Nationally, CHS ranked at # 1317 and earned a silver medal.
  2. Fargo-Davis High School
  3. North High School- Fargo
  4. Red River High School- Grand Forks
  5. Central High School - Grand Forks
