FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Law officers from around the U.S. and from Canada will be on hand to pay their respects during the funeral of a Fargo policeman killed in the line of duty.

Officer Jason Moszer died a week ago of a gunshot wound during a standoff with a suspect at a house near downtown Fargo. His funeral is Monday at Scheels Arena. The service is open to the public.

Deputy Police Chief Joe Anderson tells WDAY-TV that officers from as far as Alaska and New York are planning to come. KFGO radio reports that city police from Winnipeg, Manitoba, and officers with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in that city also plan to attend.

Moszer is the first Fargo officer to die in the line of duty in more than a century.
