With the 50th annual CMA Awards coming up on Wednesday (Nov. 2), many stars are reflecting on their favorite moments from country music’s biggest night, including Ronnie Dunn.

Dunn tells Taste of Country about being in the dressing room during one early '90s CMAs show, when Glen Campbell walked in and sat next to him. At that time Brooks & Dunn had only had a few hits, and the legend said he loved their music, "except for that 'Boot Scootin' Boogie' thing."

"He says, 'Can you imagine what that's gonna feel like singing at 40?' I'm like, 'I don't know.' It just kind of shut me down."

The memory is actually a fond one for Dunn, who says Campbell couldn't have been sweeter with his approach. He was just being honest, the "Damn Drunk" singer says.

See Glen Campbell, Through the Years

Brooks & Dunn will take the stage at this year’s CMA show for a special performance alongside six other legendary Entertainer of the Year winners including George Strait, Reba McEntire, Alan Jackson, Charley Pride and more. The duo continue to perform with McEntire at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas for their show Reba, Brooks & Dunn: Together in Vegas, with their residency extending into 2017.

Dunn is preparing to release his third solo album since B&D split. Tattooed Heart will be released on Nov. 18, featuring "Damn Drunk" -- a collaboration with Kix Brooks -- and an Ariana Grande cover.

The 2016 CMA Awards are set to air live on Nov. 2 at 8PM ET on ABC.
