Sam Hunt's latest single "Body Like a Back Road" just topped Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart for a 25th straight week. That's a record.

Florida Georgia Line held the record previously, with their debut hit "Cruise" stretching across 24 weeks in 2013. That record-breaking hit benefited from a new collaboration with Nelly, although they did additional weeks with the FGL-only version in 2012 and 2013.

Previously Leroy Van Dyke's "Walk on By" had the solo record. In 1961-62 the song held the top spot for 19 weeks, although the chart was calculated differently then.

The current Billboard Hot Country Songs chart considers radio airplay, streaming and sales figures (there's a separate Country Airplay chart that is focused on radio airplay, and "Body Like a Back Road" ruled that for three consecutive weeks). Hunt's song is the third most-downloaded song (all genres) of 2017 and the most downloaded in country music. It was recently certified triple-platinum for three million downloads. That goes along with 261 million streams.

"Body Like a Back Road" is the first single from Hunt's highly-anticipated second studio album, but there's no timeline for a follow-up single or that album. Earlier this month the singer told the Boot he didn't have a firm plan in place for new music, but would instead release songs as his lightened scheduled allows.

"I’m in a place in my career and in my life where I’m not willing to give music 100 percent of me anymore," the recently married singer says. "I did that for four years, and it was fruitful as far as my career goes, but everything else in my life had to be put on hold, and I’m just not willing to do that for years and years at a time."

Hunt is currently on the 15 in a 30 Tour with Maren Morris and Chris Janson.
