Scotty McCreery officially released his new single, "Five More Minutes," after getting the seal of approval from one very important fan: his grandmother.

McCreery shared a photo to Instagram on the day the song dropped, showing his sweet "Grandma Janet" sitting in a hospital chair, smiling as she listens to the song with the singer and his sister, Ashley, standing over her, looking equally happy.

"If you're gonna release a new single, you better make sure grandma likes it. Luckily, #FiveMoreMinutes is grandma approved! Glad to see grandma Janet doing a little better this week!" McCreery writes next to the heartwarming photo.

The 23-year-old singer has been performing "Five More Minutes" live for some time, but recently released it to radio. The emotional song is a personal one for McCreery, as it references the passing of his beloved grandfather, Bill.

“He’s never heard this song, but I know he’s watching and very proud of me, the fact that I’m at the Grand Ole Opry tonight,” McCreery shared when taking the stage for a performance at the Opry in 2016.

McCreery revealed late last year that he was in the process of working on new music.
