ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The St. Paul family of a World War II veteran whose Purple Heart was stolen has received other medals awarded to him, including a Bronze Star.

Paul Reyburn says his house was burglarized in November, and the Purple Heart given to his deceased father, Warren Reyburn, had gone missing. Help to replace it came from U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar's staff, who learned that Warren Reyburn earned more medals but never received them.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports Klobuchar presented the Reyburn family with the Bronze Star and other honors at their home Sunday.

Efforts to replace the Purple Heart have been unsuccessful thus far, and Paul Reyburn says paperwork that proves its receipt was apparently destroyed in a fire in the 1970s. He and Klobuchar say they'll keep looking for helpful documents.
