So the best thing to do it to return it or re-gift it. If you're plans are to return it, here are the best and worst stores (on line purchase included) with return policies according to Money magazine.

A recent survey indicated that over 60% of us plan to return the pink elephant according to the National Retailers Association. So you want to return that purple hair brush and steam curlers set. You don't have any use for it! Here are a few of the best stores for returns. We're talking no hassle returns.

  • LL Bean
  • Nordstrom
  • Bed Bath and Beyond
  • JC Penney
  • Costco
  • Staples
  • Kohls

Most of these stores want to make sure the customer is happy, and have no or a longer window of time to make your return with or without a sales receipt. Some make it easy to exchange or receive store credit or cash back.

The WORST stores for returns are-

  • K Mart
  • Barnes and Noble
  • GameStop
  • Sears

Some of these retailers require a sales receipt, original packaging, a tighter return window, in most cases 30 days or less and some only give store credit.
