The Smartest to the Dumbest States Ranked According to SAT Scores

This will cause a bit of a ruckus. In reply to a statement Donald Trump made while on the campaign trail, calling Iowan's dumb, The Washington Post released a study ranking the smartest to the dumbest states in the U.S.. These are the findings.

The study reviewed SAT and ACT scores from 2015 plus examined the percentage of college students in each state according to the U.S. Census. You can see more on the scoring method here. This will obviously get tongues wagging, regardless, these are the findings.

The smartest states are Massachusetts, #1 followed by Minnesota, New Hampshire, Connecticut and Wisconsin in the top 5 states. Iowa ranked at #8. The least smartest states include Hawaii (#50), Nevada, Mississippi, Alabama and South Carolina. The study ranked North Dakota at #14.
