MANDAN, N.D. (AP) — The Highway Patrol has identified two women who died in a head-on crash on the Bismarck Expressway in Mandan.

Twenty-two-year-old Abby Renschler of Lincoln and 21-year-old Taylor Goven of Mandan were passengers in a car that the patrol says was hit head-on by a pickup traveling the wrong way in the highway's west-bound lane shortly before 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

The drivers of both vehicles were injured. The patrol says charges are pending against the 28-year-old Bismarck man who was driving the pickup.

The crash shut down the highway for about four hours.
