What are the Windiest States in the US?

Wednesday night at Bike Night, even though the weather clear from morning clouds and showers, we still had a good clip to the wind.

I've always said that North Dakota is the windiest state I have ever lived in. I was involved in a conversation at Bike Night as we were discussing the wind and the windiest states. It got me thinking to do research and find out what states are the windiest states in the country?

According to Ask Hutch the five least windiest states are-

1. Mississippi
2. Florida
3. Kentucky
4. Georgia
5. Alabama

The five windiest states are-

1. Nebraska
2. Kansas
3. South Dakota
4. North Dakota
5. Iowa

According to Ask Hutch

The Department of Energy analyzed wind patterns across the U.S. for the purposes of finding out which states offer the best wind power.

 

But, you already knew NoDak was one of the windiest states!
